Over the past 10 years, Vail Resorts has invested over $125 million in improvements to Vail Mountain. An additional $500 million is allocated for renovations in both Vail Village and Lionshead.
Vail Village’s project, Vail’s Front Door, is a commitment to provide guests and residents with first-class facilities, amenities and services. Thirteen 3700 - 5700 square foot residences at the Lodge at Vail Chalets, located adjacent to the Vista Bahn Express lift, are one new addition. A new skier services building and renovation of the base of the Vista Bahn will include a much-needed underground parking structure. The new Avanyu Spa at The Lodge at Vail is going to be 8,845 square feet with 11 treatment rooms and a 2,781 square foot fitness complex with outdoor pool. The Vail Mountain Club will have valet parking and serve approximately 500 members. Also new to Vail Village will be Vail Mountain View Residences; these will consist of six large penthouses, twelve three bedrooms and six luxury one bedroom properties. The architect is world famous Gordon Pierce and the building promises to deliver the utmost in quality and scenery.
The objective is to transform Lionshead into a first-class destination mountain resort that captures the timeless feel and ambiance of the finest European villages, while blending it into the distinctive character already established in Vail Village.
The new Arrabelle at Vail Square hotel, to be located where the old Lionshead gondola used to be, will host 67 residences and penthouses ranging in size from1,600 to 8,200 square feet. At the base of Simba Run lies Forest Place, an enclave of four single-family, ski-in/ski-out homes. A little further west is home to the Gore Creek Duplexes: these 16 residences range in size from approximately 3,500 to 4,400 square feet and a new chairlift is being contemplated nearby. Also near this lift will be home to the Ritz-Carlton Residences which will feature 110 two to six bedroom residences.
